When Mr Stanley visited Kafuro last year, one of the subjects he raised at a parents meeting was how parents could get involved in supporting the school which could mean giving time instead of money. One of the ideas he mentioned was the maintenance of the school grounds.
Here in Liss, we held a school grounds morning where parents, pupils and staff volunteered their time to cut back foliage, plant new flowers and clean the general environment to make it look more welcoming for anyone attending or visiting the school. Five hours were put aside to carry out this work on a Saturday and people could stay and help for as little or as long as they wished to. It proved to be very successful with a big difference to the school grounds at the end of it. We would be fascinated to hear if the same thing will happen at Kafuro.
